Favorite "Aunt"

I am sure I will be your favorite Auntie. You will have many others...but I will be your favorite...I know it. I love my sister...my blood relative...but I am much closer to your mom. Having a blood connection is great but having a spiritual connection is sometimes more powerful. You have a birth mother. She loved you so much she let you go to your true parents. It was quite a sacrifice. But with parents like yours...it was an easier decision. You will have true Aunties with Gabby, Jordana, Ali and Haley but I know you'll like me best! We don't have to tell the others. It will be our secret. I don't need to be the headliner.
You know the thing that really brought your mom and me together is something that I hope you never have. Cancer. I think the turning point in our relationship was when your grandma Sunny was diagnosed with cancer. It wasn't long after my mother died from cancer. I will never forget talking to your mother that evening as she poured her heart out to me. Your mom and I have been through at lot and will be through a lot more. (And I'm not just talking about the bottles of wine!) I can't think of anyone I would rather have by my side.
My dad LOVED her and your dad. He will love knowing that you have finally been found. You will not meet him in this life but someday you will be able to tell Bond Jobie that you are Nicole and Jesse's son and he will be so happy to meet you. My mom never knew your parents...but I know she would love them if she did.
Did you know that my niece and nephew are adopted? Yep! And I couldn't be more of a true aunt to them if they had my blood running through their veins! And their kids too! Shelby, my great niece...who you will meet very soon...has an aunt that buys her underwear for Christmas. I took her to Venice. Hello!!! I'll take you to Venice too! It's not about the cost it's about the experience and I want you to experience everything!
In the beginning I will we be there...but if I kind of back off a little it's only because so many people want to see you. But know that I will always be here for you in the long run! And I expect you to be there for me too! I don' have my own kids so you are part of the "younger" generation who need to look out for Auntie J! But don't worry. ..with any luck...that will be many, many, MANY years from now!
