I am not a Catholic but that’s not to say that I am not a religious person. I guess I need to brush up on my religion as I have been asked to be the godmother for my cousin Kevin’s son, Cambell Alexander Crosby, and I know that involves the Catholic Church. Religion is basically a series of beliefs and traditions and as long and the beliefs are for us to rise to a higher purpose and be good to one another, I’m all for it. Your parents are Jewish and will raise you in the Jewish tradition, which is based on traditions and beliefs that we need to rise to a higher power. It's like Catholicism...but slightly different. The differences are not as important as the similarities. It's complicated...but part of rising to the higher power is to make it all less complicated so we all can find a way to be good to one another and get along.
You are in the process of being born. It’s very exciting…but it’s also very scary as it is so important that your birth mother and her family recognize that the best thing for you is to be adopted by Nicole and Jesse, and there is always the possibility that they will not rise to the higher power. So tonight, in keeping with my godmother role, I am praying to St. Jude, who is the patron saint of desperate situations and impossible causes. Not that I think you are a desperate situation or an impossible cause, but I think that the situation could be because it’s complicated by too many people wanting the spotlight for the moment, instead of Nicole and Jesse, your true parents, who want to be with you for the long haul. Whatever it takes to get you here in California little Kisko, I’m willing to do…so St. Jude hear my prayer. Let this child be born well and healthy and let his birth mother and birth relatives release him to the loving arms of Nicole and Jesse who will nurture him and give him a wonderful life, full of love, honor and the highest principles of life. Let the blood relatives let him go into a life that will allow him to flourish and make the best of his life. Let the pattern of egotism and neglect, selfishness and apathy end as he moves from his blood family to a family that will help him live his life to the highest potential. This I ask, in all that’s sacred…Amen.
Love,
Auntie JJ
